Nicholas Armstrong - Director, B2B, COzero Co-Founder
BSc (usyd) MAICD
Nick has a history in the clean energy sector, since 2003. After graduating from Sydney University with a major in Human Geography, Nick spent time in China working with a number of Solar PhotoVoltaic (PV) manufacturers. Nick went on to establish two companies in Sydney, Australia.
The first, EcoSolar, focused on PV procurement for mid-large scale projects. EcoSolar established a consortium under the Australian Government’s Solar Cities Trial (2004), receiving grant support from the then Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (NSW).
The second, Greentricity™, was established to meet a growing demand for GreenPower™ electricity in the Australian National Electricity Market. Greentricity was an electricity retailer with a focus on 100% GreenPower ™ electricity. In 2006, the co-founders, Nick Armstrong and Andrew McLeod, exited Greentricity™ by way of a friendly takeover to ASX listed Australian Power & Gas (ASX=APK).
Nick went on to establish COzero with co-founder Dan Sullivan to provide a link between project developers who reduce carbon emissions around the globe, and the buyers (emitters) who fund these projects through their purchases. The adage ‘Think Global, Act Local’ sums up the goal of COzero, giving action against global warming a local platform. |
